Growing Health Through Local Food Systems

Center Agriculture as the Cornerstone of Community Wellness

For generations, Southwest Michigan has been a powerhouse of fruit and specialty crop production, supported by rich soil, favorable climate, and a strong network of growers.

By strengthening connections between farmers, food producers, and community-based organizations, the Nutrition Exchange is creating new pathways for food to move efficiently and intentionally through our region. This work supports a more consistent flow of fresh, nutrient-dense foods into hunger relief settings today, ensuring that the abundance grown here is more fully leveraged to nourish the health of the communities who call this region home.

By joining the Nutrition Exchange, your organization is making a commitment to advancing a better food system. Together, we are moving beyond fragmented approaches to food access and building a more coordinated system that prioritizes quality, dignity, and true nourishment. Our members understand that the food environment is a health intervention, and they are committed to strengthening it.

A donation to the Nutrition Exchange does more than provide food. From farm to pantry to table, your support helps build a system that better nourishes people, supports producers, and strengthens communities from the inside out.
